Holland Zoning Board of Appeals
Meeting Minutes
Date: July 1, 2008
Present:
Sarto Caron, Chairperson
Ray Korny, Member
Ron Seaburg, Secretary
Todd Mayo, Associate
7:00 PM
The minutes of June 17, 2008 were read and accepted. John Jaccoby addressed the Board. He wanted to know why the ZBA was not taking a pro-active stance regarding sediment and erosion control, specifically as it applied to a builder/developer not meeting minimum environmental requirements such as he feels is the case on Mashapaug Road at the LaMountain property. Sarto told him that we are an appeals board and as such do not have the authority to intervene. The Board felt that we should look into our By Laws packet to ensure that our interpretation is correct regarding our area of responsibility.

Mr. Fetzer was accompanied by his builder, Don Garfield. Mr. Garfield presented new plans for the project that the Board had requested. The building height will be no greater that 24’ 6” from ground level. The roof overhang will not exceed 10” on each side. The total width including overhang will not exceed 22’ 2”. The length of the house will remain at 38’ 4”. Three bedrooms will be added to the second floor. The proposal was approved as presented by Ray Korny, Sarto Caron, and Ron Seaburg.
The ZBA voted to send a letter to Mr. Peter Frei stating that we could not accept his check because the 21 day appeals limit had expired on the case he was questioning. Voting in favor of sending the letter were Sarto Caron, Ron Seaburg, Todd Mayo, and Ray Korny.
